Anthony Martial ‘snubs Spurs and Newcastle loans’ - but still has three options abroad
Written by Publishing Team

Anthony Martial has canceled loan moves to Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United this month, but he still has three options to move abroad.

The French striker’s time at Manchester United appears to be coming to an end, as he has not appeared for the club since the beginning of December.

In addition, interim coach Ralph Rangnick confirmed over the weekend that Martial had requested not to be included in the squad for Saturday’s away game against Aston Villa.

As a result, the chances of loaning the 26-year-old before the end of the January transfer window look higher than ever.

Transfer manager Fabrizio Romano says Martial wants to leave United this month but has no interest at the moment in joining another English club.

It is believed he turned down knocks from Tottenham and Newcastle already in January, and he still has three options left in Europe.

Spanish clubs Barcelona and Sevilla are joining Italian giants Juventus to remain interested in securing Martial’s services.

It is understood that United will want to cover his full salary for the life of any loan plus loan fees to take Marshall on a temporary basis.

Martial still has more than two years left on his current contract with United but has scored just once in 10 matches this season, with none under Rangnick.

In addition, he has only made four appearances after falling back in the standings, first under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Rangnick.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani are ahead of him in the race to start a birth up front.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood were favored in the wide positions under Rangnick.

Young player Anthony Ilanga kicked off a draw with Villa on Saturday after Martial refused to participate, hinting he may now have fallen further behind in the standings.
