Chelsea were said to be considering a move to Everton’s Lucas Digne, with the 28-year-old out of luck with his manager, Rafa Benitez.

Alfredo Pedulla has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the player, with Everton saying they are willing to allow Digne to leave on loan – with the option to buy included – in the winter transfer window. It is noteworthy that he already died Believer His replacement in Dynamo Kiev’s Vitaly Mikolenko for 20-23 million euros, with only an official announcement awaiting.

Inter Milan appear to be the favorites in the race for Digne, awaiting Verona-linked Alexander Kolarov or the departure of Leicester City-linked Matias Vecino before the move can be formalized.

Besides Inter, Napoli are apparently also interested, as coach Luciano Spalletti has already worked with Digne in Rome. The Napoli team is focused on a central defender, but could make a move for Digne if they manage to offload Faouzi Ghoulam.

Chelsea’s interest in Digne stems from a potential long-term injury to Ben Chilwell, and a concrete approach could be put in place for the Frenchman if Chilwell’s return to the first team does not happen by next month as initially hoped. Given the fact that Digne fell out with Benitez due to the latter not appreciating his full-back-oriented style of play in the first place, he could indeed be the perfect match in a wing-based system like ours.

Chelsea have also been rumored to be keeping an eye on Sergino Dest – who Arsenal are presumably interested in – with the futures of both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso after the shadowy season in limbo.
