Homespire Mortgage has partnered with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), which builds and donates specially-conditioned homes to veterans seriously injured after 9/11, enabling them to rebuild their lives, supporting the mission of providing shelter to those in need.

“We are honored to support HFOT in its mission to help restore freedom and independence to our nation’s most injured veterans, and empower them to rebuild their lives,” said Michael Rappaport, president of Homespire Mortgage.

HFOT President and CEO Tom Landwermeyer also expressed the privilege of partnering with the renowned mortgage lender.

“Enthusiasm and support from companies like Homespire Mortgage help advance our important mission of building homes and restoring lives,” Landwermeyer said.

HFOT is committed to helping military personnel who have been critically wounded on the battlefield since September 11, 2001. By providing disability-compliant, wheelchair-accessible homes, the organization is helping to restore some of their freedom and independence while enabling them to focus on their families, recovery, and rebuilding. their lives. Since its inception in 2004, the organization has built more than 320 homes across the country for veterans in the communities in which they live and work.

As a proud partner of the HFOT Mission, the $50,000 Homespire donation will help support the organization’s mission to build custom custom homes, including a home currently being built in Poolesville, Maryland for Army Sgt. A wheelchair due to amputation of a leg. SGT Melendez-Diaz and his wife, Natibel, feel the euphoria of financial independence and the peace of mind that their custom-built home will provide, including full wheelchair access to the patio and kitchen, which will remove many of the daily hurdles a veteran faces in his current home.

Homespire recently participated in the HFOT’s December 4 volunteer event for SGT Melendez-Diaz’s new home, where the company’s volunteers worked together to lay out the landscaping around his future home. Homespire will also be attending Key’s final party scheduled for late January to join the couple’s official welcome to their new home.

“We are very grateful to those who have sacrificed so much for us,” Rappaport said. “As mortgage professionals, we understand the importance of finding the perfect home, and through our partnership with HFOT, we are grateful for the opportunity to support veterans like SGT. Meléndez Diaz to make that dream a reality.”
