Inter Miami announced today, Tuesday, the loan of Mexico international Rodolfo Pizarro to Monterrey in the Spanish First Division.

represents a return to riados Pizarro, who initially left the club to join David Beckham’s Miami side as a designated player in his inaugural 2020 season. The loan includes an option to make the transfer permanent.

“This loan gives the club more options to continue managing our roster. We are working tirelessly to source the right players who will help us achieve our goals going forward. We are delighted that we have found an opportunity for Rodolfo to continue to develop in Mexico,” said Chris Henderson, head of football and sporting director at Inter. Miami, “I wish him well during his loan period.”

Pizarro made 47 appearances and scored seven goals and 12 assists during his time in Miami, under coaches Diego Alonso and Phil Neville. He played 64 matches with nine goals during his first spell with Monterrey.

Tampico native Tamaulipas has won the Liga MX title in each of his stints with Pachuca, Chivas and Monterrey, and has also won the CONCACAF Champions League with the latter two teams.

Joining the defenders of the CONCACAF Champions League winners for the second time, Pizarro is set to take part with Monterrey in the Club World Cup in February.
