Casseres will join Managing Partner Andrea Mitchell and Chief Operating Officer Robyn Quattrone on Mitchell Sandler’s three-member management committee, deepening the firm’s commitment to becoming a leading female-owned and operated majority law firm.

In addition to serving on the Mitchell Sandler Management Committee, Casseres will chair the Mitchell Sandler Mortgage Regulatory Practice Group. It has a national practice that advises mortgage companies on matters of state and federal regulatory compliance, including those involving fair lending, licensing, privacy, and anti-money laundering requirements. She frequently advises clients on the Estate Settlement Procedure Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and state laws.

Karen will lead the company’s litigation, labor and recruitment proceedings. Maintains active practices in both areas, advising mortgage lenders and other financial services firms across the country on government investigations and enforcement actions and representing companies in employment and employment disputes, as well as consumer class actions.

Two attorneys, four compliance professionals and two additional employees with Casseres and Karen are moving to Mitchell Sandler from their previous firm. The group of lawyers has extensive experience in commercial litigation and advising mortgage industry clients on regulatory issues. Separately, five additional attorneys — including a long-term in-house attorney with a major lender — have joined the firm.
Mitchell Sandler partner Christopher Napier was recently promoted to lead the company’s fintech group, advising on transactions, regulation, enforcement and corporate governance for clients ranging from startups to industry-leading fintech companies.
