Sean was able to see the mother of his two children struggling to maintain her lifestyle after their separation and pounced to save the day.

When Shaun Nyland and Cat Keenan joined TikTok in November 2019, the couple couldn’t have foreseen how the app would turn their lives upside down.

In a new video on the Cat’s YouTube channel, the Newport-based couple – who share two children – explain how they had been together for nearly six years when they shot to internet fame.

Within the first four months, Shaun managed to amass over a million followers while Kat quickly began matching her monthly dog-walking salary in a day thanks to her hilarious clips.

But while this might sound like a total dream, the couple found that working together had a huge impact on their relationship.

Kat explained: “You might think we’d be getting closer — but in reality, we were getting more and more separated.

“It was like we just became friends that worked together.”

Despite their best efforts to prioritize dates and spend more time together, Sean and Kat split in March of 2021 – but they remain friends so they can co-parents Tommy and Leo.

However, Kat said she began to feel the financial struggle when she left Sean as she had the mortgage to pay off and the exorbitant Range Rover payments to keep up.

She said: “I was nervous about the money because I had a house to pay for – we have a very big house with four bedrooms and it costs a lot to pay every month.

“I had a Range Rover that we both bought but it was in my name so I just had that.

“It was costing me $1800 a month on fuel.”

“You had a lot of expenses,” Shaun said. “Don’t get me wrong, I paid all of my child support but I knew deep down it wasn’t enough.”

So on her 31st birthday in October of last year, Sean decided to surprise Kat by paying off the mortgage.

In a clip on TikTok, which has garnered 4.3 million views, Sean is seen throwing Cat a bunch of keys, with her questioning, “Why are you giving me these for?”

Shawn explains, “It’s your birthday today, I want you to have the best birthday ever. And look, I know we’re not together anymore, and I was so proud of you, you’re the best mom ever, so I did something. I called the bank, and I paid off the entire mortgage. Real Estate This home is yours now.

Of course, Kat assumed it was a joke at first – but Sean asked the bank to email her to confirm she was now mortgage-free.

In a second clip, he explains, “At the end of the day, my ex gave me the best gift any man could ask for by bringing a Leo into this world knowing it was hard for a Cat to try and live the same lifestyle we did but on her own.”

Unsurprisingly, the cute gesture brought the couple a lot closer to each other and so they decided to start shooting TikToks again.

She explained: “Caught feeling again [ …] To be honest, I was confused. I was like, Do I love him? is not it? “

But three months after Sean’s big gesture, the couple decided to try their relationship again.

Although Shawn thought they were making a video telling their followers they were going to take things slow, Kat used it as an opportunity to surprise him.

At the end of the clip, Kat turns to Sean and asks him to be her boyfriend again – which breaks him down in tears.

She said, “We are in a really good place and my feelings are really strong for you and I realize how much I love you.

“I just want to be with you again and as a family with the kids and stuff and I want to make it really official now.”

Shawn said, “You tricked me! Oh my God, I’m already crying.”

One fan replied, “Guys guys, big congratulations.” “I’m so glad you two are back together because you two make such a wonderful couple!

And another added: “You guys made me cry, congratulations! You both are amazing people.”
