Low-interest catastrophe loans will be available to small businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners and renters affected by the Windy and KNP complex fires from September 9 to December 16, 2021.

In a December 21 press release, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Disaster Field Operations Center said this disaster declaration, announced by SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzmán, is making SBA assistance available in Fresno, Inyo, Kern, Kings and Tulare. counties.

“The mission-based SBA team is ready to assist small businesses in California impacted by the Windy and KNP complex fires,” Guzman said. “We are committed to providing federal disaster loans quickly and efficiently, with a customer-centric approach to helping businesses and communities recover and rebuild.”

The loans can be used to pay off fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that cannot be paid due to the impact of the Windy and KNP complex fires disaster, Tanya Garfield, director of the Center for Field Disaster Operations West West, said in the statement.

The Small Business Administration said the loans will be limited to small businesses that lack the financial ability to recover the damage without suffering. The application deadline is September 21, 2022.

The Valley Community Small Business Center will also provide free and in-person counseling to help those affected.
